Mindfulness Meditation Retreats

In the face of our recent pandemic, and resulting social isolation, we are indeed searching for and needing a sense of connection.  As Thich Nhat Hanh says however, true connection comes from turning inward, not outward.  Social media, news, and the pseudo-connecting we do on our phones and tablets as the unfortunate, unwanted consequence of often driving us further from a lasting sense of wholeness, calm, and true connection to ourselves and others.

Mindfulness can best be understood as awareness itself.  Awareness training is at the core of meditation and begins with learning how to purposefully cultivate and direct our attention and concentration. Training in mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness disciplines involve time tested practices that purposely harness awareness around three central areas of our core life experience: the breath, the body and the mind.

Nature, is a wonderful setting to help slow down the body and mind enough to cultivate a profound sense of inner connection and observation of that which is connected to us in the natural world.  All across the globe, health care experts and organizations are beginning to formally recognize the power behind nature and nature therapy to address a host of physical, mental, emotional and psychological maladies.  Learning mindfulness in a natural setting is a robust combination!

Our mindfulness meditation retreats are designed to be personal and intimate (6 person max).  The purpose of our retreats are to provide the following for all participants:

  1. Learn or improve skill in harnessing attention, increasing concentration, and mindfulness meditation

  2. Experience the science of deep, multi-level relaxation.

  3. Participate in mindfulness meditation retreat and accompanying practices in the beauty and serenity of nature.
